GEWA offer training to frontline organisations on all aspects of domestic abuse. The multi-agency worker is largely the main provider of this training, although depending on organisational need, other workers within their own area can provide this on an ad-hoc basis (i.e. Women’s Service, Children and Young People’s Service, Family Development Service and Refuge). Typically, the Multi-Agency Worker will carry out a training needs analysis with the agency contact to assess knowledge and training requirements on an individual, departmental and/or organisational basis.
There are 3 main training packages offered which are:
- Level 1 Basic Awareness of Domestic Abuse – Indicators, Interventions and Providing Ongoing Support
- Level 2 Domestic Abuse and Working with Women with Complex Needs
- Level 3 Domestic Abuse and Effective Multi-Agency Working.
